Having recently performed the role of John the Baptist with San Francisco Opera, Vancouver Opera, and San Diego Opera, Greer is excited to be making his Dallas Opera debut in this role.
The San Francisco Chronicle exclaimed: "Bass-baritone Greer Grimsley was a thunderous and dramatically compelling Jokanaan. His voice carrying with ease over the sometimes clangorous playing of the orchestra, Grimsley invested the part with rhetorical strength and an air of moral solidity - the perfect antithesis to Salome's eroticized jitters."
It’s a work that requires a phenomenal cast and the Dallas Opera delivers, starting with soprano Deborah Voigt in the title role and baritone Greer Grimsley as the prophet in their long-awaited company debuts!
