Greer is thrilled to be singing in honor of Speight Jenkins, the man that gave him his first Wotan in Seattle Opera's RING Cycle in 2005! At the Seattle Opera, with Speight Jenkins at the helm, has sung performances of Scarpia in Tosca, Jack Rance in La Fanciulla del West, Don Pizarro in Fidelio, Telramund in Lohengrin, Kurwenal in Tristan und Isolde, the title role in Der Fliegende Holländer, and this past summer his 3rd complete Ring Cycle as Wotan/Wanderer.

Speight Jenkins’ final year as General Director began with Ring 2013 and culminates with the International Wagner Competition and 50th Anniversary Gala. To honor the man whose name is synonymous with Seattle Opera, a weekend-long celebration will be held. Join them August 8-10, 2014, for the world’s best emerging Wagnerian singers, a gala in Speight’s honor and to celebrate their 50th Anniversary, as well as other special events.
